Windemere

Windemere is a residential pocket in Soledad South, on the inland side of La Jolla about two miles from the Cove. It sits just west of the I-5 corridor, reached by a web of quiet Caminitos that most visitors never find — a part of 92037 without the fog, traffic and tourist trade that define the postcard version of La Jolla.

The streets — Caminito Merion, Muirfield, Turnberry, Porthcawl, Baltusral, Formby, Lindrick, Tom Morris — are named for famous links, and the county still records most of these parcels under an old subdivision name, La Jolla Golf & Tennis Club, laid out in the 1970s. There is no club there today: the name survives on paper and in the street signs, and the nearest golf is the La Jolla Country Club, about a mile and a third to the northwest. Because so many homes are recorded under that subdivision name rather than as Windemere, the sales below are placed by location, using the community boundary, rather than by label.

Homes run from two-bedroom residences near 1,600 square feet to six-bedroom plans above 4,900, with the middle of the market around 2,300 square feet and three bedrooms. That spread matters when reading the numbers: 155 closings since 2015 have run from $532K to $3.89M, so a single year's median can move simply because larger homes came to market. Price per square foot is usually the cleaner read on value here.
